80 PLUS Gold Efficiency
The CORE GX ATX 3.1 (2024) Series is certified 80 PLUS® Gold, delivering up to 90% efficiency at 50% system load. Higher efficiency helps reduce wasted energy, lowers heat output, and improves overall system stability.
Seasonic OptiSink Design
Seasonic’s new OptiSink™ design improves thermal performance and overall durability through a redesigned internal layout. A new PCB architecture combined with automated surface-mount manufacturing helps reduce production errors while increasing product reliability.
By optimizing the internal layout with smaller MOSFET and heatsink components, the power supply gains additional internal space for improved airflow and heat dissipation. This results in significantly improved cooling performance and enhanced long-term stability.
The improved thermal design allows the power supply to be installed safely in multiple orientations, offering greater flexibility when building or upgrading your PC. OptiSinkâ„¢ also reduces material usage and improves production efficiency, making it a more environmentally friendly design.
Optimized for PCIe 5.1 Graphics Cards
The CORE GX ATX 3.1 includes a native 12V-2×6 cable designed for the latest PCIe 5.1 GPUs. With support for up to 600W of power delivery, it provides stable and efficient performance for modern graphics cards, including NVIDIA RTX 40 Series, RTX 50 Series, and future high-performance GPUs. This ensures a cleaner build with full compliance with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards.
Legacy GPU Compatibility
For users upgrading their power supply while keeping an older graphics card, the CORE GX ATX 3.1 includes a 12V-2×6 to dual 8-pin PCIe adapter cable. This allows seamless compatibility with previous-generation GPUs while still providing next-generation power support.
Why we like this power supply deal
Although it might not usually be on the top of priority lists, the PSU is a crucial component in your build. Holding the life of it in its hands, it supplies the power to each component, so you do want to make sure it’s from a trusted source that will ensure it all works correctly. Cheapening it on it does risk burning out your parts and doing far more damage than the cost of a PSU. That’s why certifications like 80 PLUS and Cybenetics are good to check the PSU you are buying.
Seasonic is one of those that are rated highly and with long-term warranties you can trust, including this Core GX 850W. Which has garnered an average rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 on Amazon from over 180 reviews. So now you can get it for its cheapest, according to CamelCamelCamel, as seen in the graph below, falling to the lows seen at the end of February.
