Key features of this MSI Vector 16 HX AI gaming laptop
Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX processor
This processor is one of the top-end CPUs you can get in a laptop, and it’s a very good pairing with the RTX 5070 Ti. It features a boost clock speed of 5.2GHz and a large 36MB L3 cache, which positions it well for pushing out high fps at the 5070 Ti’s target resolution, with low frame latency. It also features 20 cores (8P and 12E), which make it an excellent option for productivity, multitasking, and optimizing creative workflows. In particular, tasks like streaming, rendering, and gaming while running background applications like Discord are going to benefit from this.
RTX 5070 Ti mobile
The RTX 5070 Ti mobile is one of the best GPUs to go for if you’re after quality 1440p/ 1600p performance at high refresh rates. It features 5888 CUDA cores and a substantial 12GB of newer, faster GDDR7 VRAM, which makes this a vastly superior choice to the likes of the RTX 5070 mobile, especially when it comes to handling more demanding AAA games and creative tasks, like 3D rendering, for instance. The 50-series notably has significant improvements to its AI capabilities, and with Ai-powered upscaling in the form of MFG, it allows you to push perceived fps even higher, which is great if you’re gaming at higher resolutions and settings. It also has 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders, which improve video quality, exporting speed, and more, which is ideal for professional creatives and content creators.

RAM and settings
You’ve got 32GB of DDR5 here, which is great for gaming, multitasking, and creative work. For gaming, it’s going to help with RAM-intensive games, which tend to be either open-world titles or simulators. Having this amount of RAM is going to keep everything much smoother, so if you’re playing something like Cyberpunk 2077 and spin the camera, you shouldn’t run into too much stutter. On the storage side, this laptop has your bog-standard 1TB, which is fine for most people, but you may want to upgrade if you’re using this for both gaming and design work.
Display
This screen is pretty impressive, coming in at WQXGA resolution, which will look super crisp and detailed thanks to its smaller 16-inch size. It has a 240Hz refresh rate, which is ideal for fast-paced, competitive gaming, and features 100% DCI-P3 color coverage, which not only showcases games at their best but is also excellent for professional-level video editing, color grading, and other design work.
Things to consider
An RTX 5070 Ti laptop makes the most sense from a price-to-performance perspective, especially if you plan on mostly using it on the go and away from your desk. That being said, an RTX 5080 model could be the better option if you need something more powerful for 4K gaming and working in 3D, for example, and could also make more sense if you plan on using it on the go, and connecting it to a 4K monitor. Personally, if you’ve got the budget, I’d check out some of MSI’s RTX 5080, WQXGA resolution laptops if you want more power and more versatility. MSI, in particular, offers laptops that are performance-first in many senses, which keeps them very competitively priced, too.
