Table of Contents
If you’re after a very competitively priced RTX 5070 gaming laptop, this may just be the deal for you. Right now at Newegg, this Acer Nitro V16 gaming laptop is down $150, and has been reduced from $1,399.99 to $1,249.99. That’s a great price, considering this machine packs a powerful Ryzen 7 260 processor, 16GB of DDR5, and boasts an impressive 400 nits WQXGA display with a 180Hz refresh rate. If you’re after something very capable for both gaming and creative work on the go, then this is a good option to consider from a price-to-performance perspective while it’s still reduced.

Key features of this Acer Nitro V16 gaming laptop
RTX 5070 mobile graphics card
This is one of the best graphics cards from a price-to-performance perspective, and a great pick for high refresh rate 1440p gaming. It has 4,608 CUDA cores, which is a fair bit more than the RTX 5060 mobile, and also packs 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM. On top of this, there are 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 5th-gen tensor cores, the latter of which give it a big AI-performance boost, which is most noticeable with features like MFG upscaling, which can dramatically improve perceived fps in-game. Overall, it’s a solid card for 1440p, and with its beefier CUDA core count, it is a superior option for those working in video editing and 3D for faster rendering and improved overall workflows.
AMD Ryzen 7 260 processor
This laptop features the Ryzen 7260 processor, which is a very good CPU for gaming, productivity, and creative workflows, pairing well with the RTX 5070’s capabilities nicely. You’ve got 8 cores and 16 threads, a boost clock speed of 5.1GHz, and a relatively decent-sized 16MB L3 cache. This basically adds up to something that will allow for high fps gaming at 1440p, good streaming capabilities, and pretty strong handling of multithreaded workloads, like those you’d encounter when using Blender or Adobe Premiere Pro, for example.

Display
The screen here is actually quite impressive for the price. It’s 16 inches and 2560 x 1600, which is the ideal size to pixel ratio that will make everything look crisp and clear without the added expense of a higher resolution display. It also has a high 180Hz refresh rate, which will allow for smooth, high fps gaming, and it’s also 400 nits, which is brighter than your standard sub-$1,300 gaming laptop, at least from what I’ve seen.
Storage and RAM
You’ve got 16GB of DDR5 here, which is not bad for an RTX 5070 laptop at this price point. More is always more when it comes to RAM, but 16GB is going to be fine for keeping everything feeling super responsive, whether that be with more demanding asset-heavy games or creative applications where you’re working on huge, multi-layered files. It also has a decent-sized 1TB SSD, which is, again, not bad for the price.
Things to consider
In all honesty, this is a very good price for an RTX 5070 laptop and quite hard to beat. The only consideration, really, is whether you want to up your budget a bit and explore some of the more premium RTX 5070 models from the Acer Predator lineup, for instance. These are going to have better screens, processors, more advanced cooling, and more premium finishing, which can make all the difference. ASUS ROG Strix RTX 5070 laptops are particularly impressive, both from a performance and aesthetic perspective; however, the price point is significantly higher in most cases.
