Instagram Stories is a new way to share your daily life moments on Instagram. It allows you to post photos, videos, and stories from your mobile phone’s camera roll. Here we will look at how to repost a story on Instagram.
What are Instagram Stories?
Instagram Stories is a feature offered by the Instagram app that helps users to publish photographs and videos that remain on their profile for 24 hours. You can post around 15 seconds of video or a photo; photos and videos disappear after 24 hours. You can use text, stickers and background music to the Instagram stories if needed.
The best part of Instagram Stories is that they are ephemeral. The videos and photos in your Story will be visible to anyone who follows you. As long as the app is installed on a user’s mobile device, they can view all your postings as soon as they are published.
This means there is no permanent record of them on your profile or in the app itself. Your followers will only see the posts you made as part of your Story for 24 hours, after which they will disappear forever (unless you decide to save them). Though, Instagram has a new “story archive” feature, where your stories will be saved in the archive folder. You can change the archive settings according to your preference.
How to Use Instagram Stories?
The Instagram Stories feature is an excellent tool for communicating with other people worldwide about your day. Whether just catching up on what you missed or sharing something unique, Instagram Stories can help you connect with others and show them your day-to-day life.
Here’s how to use Instagram Stories:
- Go to your profile and click “stories” in the top right corner of your screen.
- Scroll through your friends’ stories and select the one you want to post from the left column.
- Type out what you want to say in a short paragraph or two, then tap “post.”
- If someone has commented on your Story, you’ll see a blue envelope icon next to their name at the bottom of the screen—tap it if so! Otherwise, tap “edit” if there’s something wrong with what you said or posted, and make changes before posting again (like changing text!).
How to Repost a Story on Instagram?
Reposting a story on Instagram quickly gets more brand exposure and effectively grows your audience. When you repost a story, the content stays in your feed and appears in your followers’ newsfeeds. It’s an excellent way to give followers a second look at the content they’ve already seen and highlight your page’s latest stories.
The most significant benefit of reposting is that it is entirely free! Follow these straightforward procedures, and you won’t need to hire a professional or pay for services or software.
- Locate the post you wish to republish by searching for it on Facebook or Instagram.
- Tap it to expand it, and then swipe up the screen until “Repost” appears in the upper right corner.
- Tap Repost if this option is available, and select the Story you wish to repost from the list that appears below the “Repost” option.
- Press “Repost” once more to confirm your choices, and then tap the blue checkmark in the lower-right corner of the screen to save Repost. Tap another post or scroll down to continue exploring Instagram!
How To Repost A Story You Are Tagged In
When tagged in a story on Instagram, it’s easy to forget that the Story is still live. Here’s how to repost it!
- Select the “share” button at the top of the Story. It looks like three horizontal bars with an arrow pointing up.
- Press and hold down on that button for about three seconds, then release it. You’ll see a little box with a text box to which you can copy and paste your comment or message.
- Paste your comment or message into the box, then press enter or press “post.”
- The person who originally shared the Story will now see your comment or message at the top of their Story and in their notifications.
How To Repost A Story When You Are Not Mentioned
When you are not tagged in a story, it is possible to repost it.
- Return to the Story page and click the heart icon in the lower right corner of the screen. This will return you to the original post.
- Click “Re-pin” or “Share” in the upper right corner of your screen, depending on whether you share the Story with your followers.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to share this Story on your profile!
- Once you’re through reposting the Story, click the heart icon in the lower-right corner of the screen once more. This link will return you to your profile page.
Post from Your Instagram Feed to Your Story
If you want to report a story on Instagram, it’s easy! Just follow these steps:
- Go to your profile and click “Story” at the top of your screen.
- Click on the icon that resembles a square with two arrows protruding from it immediately above where it says “Your Story” in the top bar.
- Scroll down until you see the video you want to repost, then click on it by clicking on it once or twice with your mouse or finger.
- Click “Repost” when prompted by Instagram to do so!
Posting to Instagram Stories is quite easy. You can share your most exciting moments with a larger audience, including friends, family, and other followers. Some people prefer to post directly from their feed, while others may want to avoid inconveniencing their followers by sending them an email or DM every time they get tagged in a story. If you find yourself using the former method of posting, then this post will show you how easy it is!
