AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor was released in November and sold out almost immediately. Since then, keeping track of 9800X3D stock has been the only way to snap one up, but actually finding the processor in stock has been a struggle. Now that 2025 is here, availability is much more widespread, but some retailers have had to resort to bumping up the price.

One good example is Newegg, which has the 9800X3D in stock, but for a ridiculously high price. The massive demand has been overwhelming for AMD, which recently blamed Intel for low stock issues – namely its lack of competition. On the bright side, the 9800X3D is in stock on Amazon for $479.99, but we can never know how long it will last.

9800X3D bundles on Newegg are a solid option right now

AMD’s recent CPU sales show that they are unsurprisingly off to a great start in 2025. Amazon is a great retailer to opt for while the chip remains in stock, but we’ve seen high demand troubling the platform since its launch. According to the product listing, over 10,000 units have been sold in the last month, so we can’t guarantee how long it will remain in stock – in any case, snap it up while you still can. And if you want an alternative, we recommend checking out one of Newegg’s recent bundles.

At the moment, the 9800X3D alone isn’t directly available from Newegg, so you’ll have to go through a third-party seller and end up spending over $700 – well above the MSRP. Thankfully, Newegg has put together a long list of bundles featuring the X3D gaming chip which offers solid value for money, here are a few examples.

You can grab the 9800X3D bundled with a brand-new X870 motherboard or even AMD’s current flagship RX 7900 XTX graphics card. So, if you’re looking to kick-start a new build with high-end parts, this is the perfect chance to do so.
