Acer has just unveiled the Predator X27U F8 as part of its IFA Berlin 2025 announcements. In the past month, we’ve seen 720Hz monitors become the new thing in display technology. LG unveiled its “world’s fastest” 540Hz OLED monitor that can push all the way up to 720Hz (when you run it at 720p), and this is the same for the new Predator gaming monitor.

ASUS also features the same technology in its new ROG Swift OLED; they’re likely all using the same panel, with LG supplying it. In any case, we can delve more into the technical details below. To kick us off, the Predator X27U F8 is a 1440p gaming monitor, running at 540Hz at native resolution, and, as expected, you can get the full 720Hz when you drop it to 720p.

Predator X27U F8 offers up to 720Hz – here are the full specs

Predator X27U F8 Monitor: Ultrafast 720 Hz Refresh Rate for Competitive Gaming

This ultra-fast monitor is a top-tier choice for elite gamers seeking the speediest response times and breathtaking image quality.

The Predator X27U F8 delivers stellar gameplay featuring a 26.5-inch OLED IPS display with a WQHD (2560×1440) resolution and an astounding 720 Hz refresh rate. Thanks to Dynamic Frequency Resolution (DFR), the monitor can switch between WQHD at 540 Hz and 1280×720 at 720 Hz, optimizing performance for different gaming scenarios. With a 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut and VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification, it produces deep blacks and stunning contrast for immersive visuals. Additionally, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro eliminates screen tearing and stuttering, delivering buttery-smooth gameplay.

At least Acer makes it immediately clear that the high 720Hz refresh rate is only possible when you lower the resolution to 1280×720 – the other brands we mentioned simply refer to it as ‘HD’, which is correct, but not everyone is up to speed on the naming conventions. Regardless, these panels have arrived to be fitted in some of the best gaming monitors we’ve seen this year.

Price and availability

Last, but not least, we have the pricing and availability details – most of which have been confirmed by Acer. Nice to see at a time when there’s uncertainty surrounding some hardware launches as a result of U.S. trade tariffs. Pricing is yet to be confirmed in regions such as the UK, Canada, and Australia, but here’s what we know so far:

  • $1,299.99 (USD)
  • €1,199 (EUR)
  • $9,999 (RMB)

As for when you’ll be able to buy one, Acer says the Predator X27U F8 will release in Q1 2026 in North America and China, then in Q2 2026 in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
