AIDA64 is a PC diagnostics and benchmarking tool which often gives us a head-up for upcoming hardware launches. The latest patch notes for July 8th seem to reveal the existence of an RX 9060 graphics card, something that AMD has yet to announce. AMD launched the RX 9060 XT on June 5th, 2025 (the same day as the Switch 2) with 8GB and 16GB models – but there was no mention of the non-XT model.

The RX 9060 XT was met with generally positive reviews, as long as the MSRP could hold. And as you may know, Nvidia also released 8GB and 16GB memory variants of its rival RTX 5060 Ti, as well as the RTX 5060 (non-Ti), though interest in the latter was rock bottom around launch. That, plus the fact that 16GB GPUs continue to outsell 8GB seems to suggest that AMD would maybe shy away from releasing a weaker, non-XT version of the card.

AIDA64 patch notes mention Zen 6 and RX 9060

Along with the mention of the RX 9060 non-XT model, there is also “preliminary support” for Zen 6 processors, though this is expected much further down the line – AMD has already confirmed the Zen 6 ‘Morpheus’ branding.

AIDA64

Despite PC gamers demanding more VRAM, AMD says 8GB graphics cards still have a market, so releasing an RX 9060 presumably makes some sense. It would likely sit above Nvidia’s recent RTX 5050, which still isn’t available in the West, and hasn’t had much fanfare retailing for $249. Last generation’s RX 7600 (non-XT) launched with a price tag of $269, so we could be seeing something similar with the 9060.
