Early reports this week suggested that the Ryzen 9 5900XT and Ryzen 7 5800XT launches would be pushed back to the 8th of August, 2024. Since then, AMD has launched the new CPUs – both of which are available at Newegg and Amazon.

While AMD has delayed the launch of its much-awaited Ryzen 9000 series processors, it has rolled out the two AM4 CPUs that were scheduled for release on the same date. It looks like the delay has not extended to Zen 3 CPUs, which have launched today.

Originally, AMD had plans to launch the four Ryzen 9000 series CPUs along with Ryzen 9 5900XT and Ryzen 7 5800XT on July 31st. However, the Zen 5 processors release was pushed to August. There was no official word about the launch of the Zen 3 cards, and they were presumed to be delayed as well.

However, AMD has cleared the air by launching the 5000XT CPUs on July 31st as per the original schedule.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900XT and Ryzen 7 5800XT are available for purchase

According to the official product listing on Amazon, the Ryzen 9 5900XT is based on the Zen 3 architecture. It comes with 16 cores and 32 threads and can be clocked up to 4.8GHz – which is only slightly lower than the Ryzen 9 5950X. The processor also features a 72MB cache and a TDP design of 105W.

Further, the Ryzen 7 5800XT, also based on Zen 3, features 8 cores and 16 threads, along with a max boost of up to 4.8GHz. The cache here is 36MB, which is lower than the 5900XT. Much like the Ryzen 9 5900XT, this CPU also has a TDP of 105W. This CPU is very similar to its predecessor, the Ryzen 7 5800X, with only a slight boost in the clock speed.

At the moment, the two AM4 processors have been spotted on Amazon US and Newegg. The Ryzen 9 5900XT and the Ryzen 7 5800XT are priced at $349 and $249, respectively.
