AMD says its new FSR Frame Generation model will support 30+ games before the end of the year

AMD announced a few weeks ago that FSR Redstone ‘premieres’ on December 10, and the day has finally arrived. As part of the release, AMD has announced that the new FSR Frame Generation implementation will be available in over 30 games by the end of the year. Redstone arrives in AMD Software Adrenalin 25.21.1 driver and promises to offer “smooth and high” frame rates, trained on a neural network in the “most demanding scenarios” to optimize performance.
Just like FSR 4, Redstone is exclusive to the latest RDNA 4 graphics cards. The latest series is headed by the RX 9070 XT, and while there were previous rumors that FSR 4 could be coming to RX 7000 cards, this hasn’t come to fruition just yet.
AMD FSR Frame Generation promises high frame rates
FSR Frame Generation is just one component of the Redstone upgrade – it also includes Upscaling, Ray Regeneration, and Radiance Caching. Black Ops 7 became the first game to support FSR Redstone, as Ray Regeneration was added to the latest COD title, but wider support now arrives on December 10.
AMD says 4K, ray-traced gaming enjoys 3.3x better performance on average with FSR Redstone. This reaches an impressive 4.7x in the case of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. The past few entries to the series have proven to favor AMD hardware, so it doesn’t come as a massive surprise to see FSR Redstone being well-implemented in the popular first-person shooter.

FSR Redstone Frame Generation is available in games that have AMD FSR 3.1.4 or higher already integrated. You can see the full list of games supported by FSR on AMD’s website here. It’s obvious that Black Ops 7 already supports the new frame gen tech, as for other titles, AMD lists Cyberpunk 2077 as another game that offers 4.7x better performance with the Redstone feature set. Plus, while not all games will specifically support Redstone FG, AMD says over 200+ titles are already supported with “one or more” FSR Redstone features in 2025.
