Following an entirely dry 2023 for Apple’s popular tablet, the iPad family is seemingly getting a new member soon: the iPad Pro OLED. Previously, claims had surfaced that the Cupertino-based company would release the upcoming model sometime in mid-2024, with most reports pointing to a May 2024 launch. And now that two new device model numbers have recently surfaced on the Bureau of Indian Standards database, the previously unconfirmed release date now seems more likely than ever.
The two new listings, which were first spotted by 91mobiles, are made up of alphanumeric strings that are exclusive to Apple’s iPad series: A2836 and A2837. Of course, these details don’t exactly confirm whether or not these upcoming models will indeed be the long-awaited iPad Pro OLED. After all, there have also been rumors that Apple is planning to launch new iPad Air entries in the next few months as well. With this in mind, these details, no matter how probable, are still just that: unconfirmed. So take this information with your handy salt shakers at the ready, as always.
iPad Pro OLED, like its launch, remains unconfirmed
Unfortunately, the iPad Pro OLED’s specs, aside from its much-improved display, largely remain scarce as of writing. However, there have been rumors that the upcoming Pro models will be getting a landscape-oriented camera, which, if true, would be especially useful for capturing sceneries or taking big group photos that are often difficult to get right with the relatively smaller iPhone.
For now, though, you’ll have to wait until Apple reveals additional details to find out more about the iPad Pro OLED. Until then, check out our comparison pages on the iPad Pro vs. MacBook Air and the Pixel Tablet vs. iPad Pro so you know which one you should be getting.
