ASUS anniversary edition RTX 5090 appears on official store for double Nvidia’s MSRP
Table of Contents
Three months after announcing its special edition RTX 5090 with four fans, ASUS’s 30th anniversary graphics card, the ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090, has a price tag. It’s now listed on the official ASUS online store for $3,999.99. At the time of writing this, it’s listed as out of stock, and we’re yet to see it appear on the usual alternative retailers.
Nvidia launched its 50 series flagship card with an MSRP of $1,999, and you can actually grab one for that price these days, following months of inflation caused by poor stock levels and scalpers – nothing unusual there. ASUS is no stranger to releasing pricey special-edition models, including a gold-embedded 5090 earlier this year.
ASUS ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 listed for $3,999.99
The new ROG Matrix graphics card features an eye-catching design with four fans in total, which ASUS says increases air pressure by 20% for “optimal thermals and quiet operation”. Another unique selling point for this GPU is its maximum 800W power input, as opposed to the 5090’s usual 575W TDP. This allows the card to have 10% more headroom for overclocking.
The 800W TDP is achieved thanks to dual power input connectivity, compatible when connected to both an advanced BTF motherboard and your power supply via a 12V-2×6 cable. We’ve actually reviewed a BTF RTX 5090 from ASUS before, if you want to read more about how the ‘Back To (the) Future’ design works.

Interestingly, the exact specifications, including the clock speeds, recommended PSU, slot size/width, and dimensions, have been slightly tweaked compared to the original announcement. Minor differences, but here are the specs, as listed on the ASUS store.
