First, we had the RTX 5090 and 5080, followed by the more “budget-friendly” RTX 5070 series graphics cards. Now, it’s time for the 5060 family to arrive. As we’ve mentioned before, Nvidia hasn’t officially unveiled the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti, but leaks and rumors suggest we should expect to see the new cards this month. On top of that, the latest news about RTX 5060 Ti support on a benchmark tool indicates that the launch day is fast approaching.
Now, over on the Geekbench database, the first entry for the soon-to-be-released RTX 5060 Ti has appeared, giving us a full look at the specifications and initial performance figures. While this is still a leak, Geekbench results usually start appearing close to launch, and with review samples already reaching independent reviewers, this is typically when we start to get “confirmed” details about the upcoming GPUs.
- GPU: AD106
- CUDA cores: 4,352
- VRAM: 8GB GDDR6
- Bandwidth: 288.0 GB/s
- Memory bus width: 128-bit
- Base clock speed: 2310 MHz
- Boost clock speed: 2550 MHz
13-14% performance boost over 4060 Ti
According to the Geekbench listing, the RTX 5060 Ti was tested on a high-end rig with an X870E motherboard and a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, ensuring no bottlenecks. Since there are no official drivers for the GPU yet, the system is likely using a non-public driver from Nvidia.
Starting with the specifications, the leak confirms that the card has 36 Compute Units, which means 4,608 CUDA cores. Additionally, this particular model features a 2,647 MHz boost clock and 15.9 GB of memory, meaning the RTX 5060 Ti will come with 16 GB of VRAM.
GPU | OpenCL Score | Vulkan Score |
---|---|---|
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti | 146,234 | 140,147 |
GeForce RTX 4070 | 167,910 | 156,752 |
GeForce RTX 4060 Ti | 129,894 | 122,535 |
GeForce RTX 4060 | 101,650 | 97,976 |
Radeon RX 9070 | 139,909 | 166,342 |
Moving on to the performance figures, the RTX 5060 Ti scored 146,234 points in the OpenCL test and 140,147 points in the Vulkan test. Compared to AMD’s latest RX 9070 GPUs, these figures show a 5% higher OpenCL score but a 16% lower Vulkan score. However, compared to the last-gen 4060 Ti, this makes the 5060 Ti 13%-14% faster.
That said, details about the 5060 still remain scarce, but if we talk about pricing, a leak reported by VideoCardz puts the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB at an MSRP of $429, while the 5060 8GB model will be priced at $379. Rumors suggest that NVIDIA will announce the RTX 5060 Ti series on April 15, with the launch planned for April 16, so take any information about the GPUs with a grain of salt until then.
