Nvidia’s RTX 5050 is releasing as soon as tomorrow (July 1st), at least according to an early Amazon listing of MSI’s Shadow 2X OC model. This comes as a surprise for the US market, considering Nvidia’s website still maintains an official release day of the “second-half of July”. We’ll have to wait and see if this MSI card will actually be shipped, but we could be getting the RTX 5050 much sooner than expected.

According to the Amazon listing, you can pre-order the RTX 5050 right now. It is priced at $279.99, which is $30 above the GPU’s MSRP. Previous rumors suggested that a July 1st release would be reserved for the Chinese market, which gave us some hope that reviews might arrive ahead of launch.

RTX 5050 listed on Amazon for $279.99

The RTX 5050 is Nvidia’s entry-level option for the 50-series, representing the cheapest way to unlock the potential of DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation. At the time of writing, there is little sign of any other RTX 5050 models appearing online, so this MSI card could be an anomaly.

Specifications
  • GPU: GB207
  • CUDA Cores: 2,560
  • VRAM: 8GB GDDR6
  • Memory bus width: 128-bit
  • Base clock speed: 2,317 MHz
  • Boost clock speed: 2,602 MHz / 2,617 MHz (MSI Center)

While Nvidia has released some in-house benchmarks for the 8GB GDDR6 GPU, they are heavily reliant on DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, so it’s a little hard to gauge the native performance of the RTX 5050, though one ‘DLSS off’ graph places it o npar with the RTX 4060. We did spot an early synthetic benchmark online, but we’re keen to wait for some more widespread gaming results. Price-wise, the RTX 5050 goes head-to-head with Intel’s Arc B580, one of the best budget GPUs right now.

Even if you can get your hands on this card as soon as July 1st, there’s no guarantee that Nvidia will be ready to release the associated drivers. Considering it still advertises a mid-late July release date through its official channels, consumers that snap up this MSI card might not get to use it to its full potential until later in the month.
