Google Pixel 9 Pro & Pro XL release date & price
Google has announced that while the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL are available for pre-order right now, the release dates are not all the same. Both the Pixel 9 and Pro XL will “be on shelves” at the Google Store and retailer partners on August 22nd, whereas the Pixel 9 Pro will have to wait until September 4th in the US.
As we discussed in an earlier report, it was speculated that the Pixel 9 Pro would be priced at around $999 for the base model, which turned out to be true. The Pro model comes with a price of $999 for the 128GB storage version; this reaches up to $1,449 for the 1TB model. As for the XL, the base 128GB variant costs $1,099, whereas you’ll pay $1,549 for 1TB of internal storage. The Pro XL is $100 more expensive than the Pro across the board.

As per Google's official announcement, the Pixel 9 series has four new phones – Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The new phones come with a Tensor G4 chip, plus more RAM, so we're expecting better performance than the Pixel 8 series.
Further, the new Google phones are equipped with better cameras. More specifically, users can get a new 42MP selfie camera. Meanwhile, on the rear, the phones have a 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide, and 48MP 5x telephoto setup – something that has worked tremendously well for the Pixel 8 series.
Another highlight here is that the lineup comes loaded with AI features, which doesn't come as a surprise since Google has been making constant improvements to Gemini. So the new phones would be equipped with advanced features like built-in Gemini Nano and a more sophisticated Gemini Assistant that can maintain free-flowing conversations.
On the front, the Pixel 9 series phones sport a second-gen Super Actua panel, which means thinner bezels and brighter displays. In fact, the Pixel Watch 3 also has the same Actua display.
