Google ‘Pixel 9a’ photos surface online and it might just launch this year
Table of Contents
Earlier this month, Google unveiled the new Google Pixel 9 lineup, which includes Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Fold. Some of the phones are available to purchase on Amazon, but we’re still awaiting a global launch.
Well, now we can, as photos of Google Pixel 9a have supposedly leaked online, and the leaker claims that the phone is likely to arrive this year. It will have to remain as speculation for now, especially when you consider that the budget A-series usually doesn’t come around until Spring, often around May (when Google I/O usually takes place).
Tipster says Google Pixel 9a might release in 2025 (rumor)
According to ShrimpApplePro’s post on X, the Google Pixel 9a will be released before 2024 ends. Further, the phone will be available in four different colors, one of which is silver (as shown in the image). The user mentions that these leaked images were sourced from “some random post on Facebook”. Yeah, let’s definitely mark it as a rumor.

From what we can see in the leaked photos, the camera bump is very thin compared to the flagship Pixel 9 phone. In fact, this might make the Pixel 9a slimmer than the rest of the lineup. Judging from the photos, the phone seems to have rounded corners. The USB-C charging point looks to be at the bottom of the device, along with a SIM card tray and speaker. In the second image, there are two side buttons, likely volume controls. Plus, it looks like there is an LED light beside the camera setup.
Google has not confirmed anything about the Pixel 9a. While the leak says that this phone would be launched before this year ends, the exact release date is not mentioned.
