The Nintendo Switch 2 release is coming at the end of this week, with a range of new hardware and improvements. It’s expected to perform better than the first Switch by a large margin – simulated tests put it close to GTX 1050 Ti (but with RTX features). For the release, the game lineup will have a combination of first and third-party titles, but also upgrades aimed at improving the performance of Switch 1 games to work better on Switch 2.

These upgrades do provide some benefits and might be worth paying for, as not all of them are free upgrades. One of these examples is cutting down load times in half for one game in particular. Along with the Switch 2, which introduces new ways for controlling games with its mouse Joy-Cons, upgrades open up a new world of playing on the console.

Games releasing with the Switch 2

Here are the games coming out on June 5th alongside the Switch 2. A combination of new games coming to Nintendo and upgrades with the Switch 2 editions. Both of which will likely take advantage of the better hardware compared to the now 8-year-old Switch 1.

This includes the likes of Cyberpunk 2077, described as the most Cyberpunk way to play Cyberpunk; it isn’t the first handheld it works on, but a gem for Nintendo to get. Though it will depend on the performance, with Nvidia hardware, it’s very likely DLSS will play a big part in it.

Even beyond the initial Switch 2 launch, there are games with confirmed release dates for it coming later this year. Also, providing a combination of upgrades and new games on the console.

There are also plenty of games that will fill up the Switch 2’s store even further down the line, with yet unknown release dates. There are some with the rough year you can expect, but there is a whole range of games to look forward to. But with the consoles’ life just starting out, you can definitely expect even more games in the years to come, taking advantage of the tech and hardware.
