The popular and hilarious physics-based puzzle game Human: Fall Flat is receiving official VR support soon, something that has left both fans of the game and the VR gaming community excited. This upgrade is the direct result of an unofficial VR mod created by Raicuparta, a modder known for adding virtual reality to popular titles.
Raicuparta previously developed VR mods for games like Neon White, Outer Wilds, Firewatch, and Hardspace: Shipbreaker. He later shifted his focus to Human: Fall Flat. After spending some time working on its VR mode, he was unable to release it publicly. However, he shared a video of his work with No Brakes Games, the developer of Human: Fall Flat, who became highly interested in the mod.
Human: Fall Flat VR is getting official VR support
No Brakes Games offered Raicuparta the opportunity to continue developing the mod to make it official. However, for unknown reasons, he was unable to accept the offer. So, the developers decided to buy the mod from him to use the same ‘puppet controls’ concept in an official VR version.
Here’s what the modder said in an official post on Patreon.
“I showed the video to the creators of the game, and they were very excited. They offered to hire me, but that wouldn’t work for me at the time. They then offered to buy the mod from me, so that they could eventually use the same “puppet controls” concept on an official VR port. I don’t think they really needed to pay me at all, so that was really nice of them.“

The developers have now officially confirmed Human: Fall Flat VR, and its product page is live on Steam, as a separate title. While they haven’t provided an exact release date, they did confirm that the VR version “includes all the levels from the game’s original release, along with a wide selection of Extra Dreams created by some of the most talented community creators”. The VR version will also support up to four players and feature a third-person view.
Raicuparta has stated that he was not directly involved in the development of the mod after its purchase. He mentioned that the developers bought it from him and “did their own thing”. Regardless, the VR version will be available on popular platforms such as Meta Quest, SteamVR, and PlayStation VR2.
