“Just change your phone” Google Pixel 10 teaser pokes fun at Apple Intelligence delays

Google sometimes likes to pick on Apple in its marketing campaigns, and has done so again for the upcoming Google Pixel 10. The Android smartphone, which has a release date penciled in for August 20 during Made by Google 2025, isn’t expected to make a massive impact on the market; leaks suggest Pixel 9 owners have little to get excited about.
Even still, Google’s latest trailer seems to poke fun at promises Apple has made in the past. It likely refers to Apple Intelligence, which notoriously lacked some features on the iPhone 16 series at launch despite already being announced. Wall Street Journal’s Joanna Stern gave a couple of executives a hard time about it at WWDC in June.
Google Pixel 10 ‘soon’ trailer is probably about the iPhone
The trailer starts with “if you buy a new phone, because of a feature that’s coming soon, but it’s been coming soon for a full year” and likely refers to missing Apple Intelligence and Siri features. Some of these AI improvements have been delayed to 2026, according to Reuters. The trailer continues with “you could change your definition of soon, or you could just change your phone” in a bid to convince Apple users to make the switch to Android, or more specifically, to a Google Pixel.
Like we said, this isn’t the first time Google has taken jabs at Apple, previously putting out a video highlighting all the ‘new features’ coming to iPhone that have existed on Pixel for several years. We’ll get to learn about the Google Pixel 10 during its unveiling later this month.
The most interesting leaks so far point towards a bigger battery, better display, and faster charging for the Pro Fold model. Speaking of foldables, rumors of a foldable iPhone have sparked recently, not long after Apple said, “Who’s to say?” when quizzed on the possibility.
