One of the biggest issues players had was entering codes into safes and bank vaults using a keyboard and mouse. Sometimes, when typing the numbers, the game would skip digits. That made it hard to open safes and slowed down gameplay, but this update finally fixes that problem.
A few controller-related bugs have also been fixed. For example, some players had trouble using the bow. The bow wasn’t drawing properly based on how far you pulled the trigger, and it would sometimes misfire when slowly releasing it. Another bug caused the pistol to become invisible during a car chase scene with Ellie and Jesse, which would stop players from shooting. Thankfully, both have now been fixed.

If you’re using an ultrawide monitor, you’ll be glad to learn that this update improves visuals during cutscenes. Previously, there were some bugs with lighting and animations on ultrawide monitors, something that was ruining the gameplay experience for many. Aside from improving ultrawide cinematics, the update also removes jagged lines around bodies in snow and fixes broken textures in the aquarium.
The patch also fixes a bug where the sniper rifle didn’t show a lens flare, making it hard to know where Tommy was aiming during ‘The Marina’ chapter. And in the same chapter, the rifle scope UI was sometimes moved to the corner when using upscaling and high contrast mode.
