Samsung’s upcoming smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, have reportedly leaked, revealing their launch colors and prices. This information comes nearly a month before their official unveiling which is expected to happen in July – alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 – at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked. The pricing strategy seems to indicate Samsung is directly targeting Apple’s high-end smartwatch market.

Color leaks and new pricing strategy

The information, which originates from Ice Universe leak, shows the rumored price for the upcoming Galaxy Watch Ultra smartwatch to fall between $699 and $710, putting it in close competition with the current Apple Watch Ultra 2 which sits at $749. This is a significant jump from previous high-end Galaxy Watch models, with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro starting at $449. The leak suggests the Galaxy Watch Ultra will only be available in a single, larger 47mm size, unlike the standard Galaxy Watch 7 which is expected to come in 40mm and 44mm options.

This aligns with the strategy of the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. Color options for the Watch 7 are rumored to be Cream White, Forest Green, and Marble Gray, available across all sizes and variants, although pricing details for the larger sizes and cellular connectivity haven’t been leaked yet.

Visual changes

Visually, the leaked images suggest the Galaxy Watch Ultra will borrow design cues from the Apple Watch Ultra series. This includes a prominent crown guard and an orange accent color. Samsung seems to be more generous with the orange application compared to Apple’s subtle use. The standard Galaxy Watch 7 is expected to maintain a more affordable price point, starting between $299 and $310. It’s important to note that this price applies only to the non-cellular 40mm version. Pricing details for larger sizes and cellular connectivity remain unknown.

While this leak shows that Samsung is certainly challenging Apple in the high-end smartwatch realm, it also suggests there will be more smartwatch options at a variety of price points – meaning everyone gets a look in. Samsung’s rumored Galaxy Watch Ultra caters to users who want a feature-rich smart watch similar to the Apple Watch Ultra, but at a slightly lower price.

Meanwhile, the standard Galaxy Watch 7 maintains a more affordable starting price, likely appealing to users who prioritize core smartwatch features without needing the most premium extras. With a wider range of sizes and colors across both models, users should find a Galaxy Watch that better suits their style and needs.
