We’re halfway through 2024, which means another Galaxy Unpacked event from Samsung is just around the corner. These conferences are not to be missed by tech-heads looking to get the latest scoop on what Samsung has in store for the coming months. The last Unpacked, in January, gave us the official release dates for brand new devices like the Galaxy S24 range – but what can we expect from the next one?
Given Samsung’s diverse array of products that fall under the “Galaxy” umbrella, the conference could be crammed with potential products. Here are the most likely items we think will be on display.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra
There have been a number of Samsung Galaxy Watch leaks in recent days, which posits a potential announcement in the near future. Though leaks don’t necessarily correlate with imminent product launches, the amount of information we already have on the new Galaxy Watch range makes it comfortably close to a release. The new watches are boasting more impressive processors and impressive prices to go with them, seemingly targeting a premium-adjacent market as Apple’s range of smartwatches does.
Samsung Galaxy Ring
Another curious wearable from Samsung that has recently gained traction is the Samsung Galaxy Ring, an extremely portable smart ring, effectively capable of the same as a smartwatch. It was first revealed at January’s Unpacked event, and though little is known about it, we’re expecting a much more complex version of the archetypal smart ring – capable of far more than blood pressure and heart rate monitoring.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
Samsung are one of the few companies dedicated to manufacturing foldable smartphones. Whilst Apple is content with the stylish singular design of the smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold range are among the best foldable phones for that added bit of versatility. Opening outwards like a book, we’re expecting a new iteration of the Z Fold series to introduce more features, and improve on existing ones – though like many other smartphone models, we’re not expecting major innovation.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
Far more excitingly, in our minds, is the prospective Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6. Also plagued with leaks, we’ve already heard some information about this new smartphone – such as a possible 50MP camera, an OLED screen and AI-powered processing – and it’s enough to get us excited. Folding upwards in the vein of a classic flip-phone, this is our preferred style of Samsung Galaxy smartphone, and we’re keen to get our hands on it.
When is Samsung Galaxy Unpacked?
The next question on everyone’s minds is when we’ll see all these new devices. We’re expecting to see a second Galaxy Unpacked event in the middle of the year, generally between July and August – although given that we’re nearing the end of June and there’s been no announcement, we’re predicting it will likely be the later end of that time window.
Samsung have been beleaguered with leaks in recent weeks, and it has somewhat stolen the thunder from any prospective product launches. Still, it’ll be interesting to see what comes of the formal announcement, as release dates are to be confirmed.
