Legion Go 2 engineering sample with OLED screen leaked online in new video, and it looks ready to be shipped

The second half of 2025 is shaping up to be huge for PC gaming handhelds. The Lenovo Legion Go 2 could be just around the corner, as footage from China shows an engineering sample of the new device. This comes just as the new MSI Claw is getting pre-orders around the world and after ASUS announced its new Xbox ROG Ally models. We don’t think Valve has plans to release a new Steam Deck anytime soon, but pretty much every other competitor has been busy.
We first heard about the handheld sequel at CES 2025 at the very start of the year. The company was showing off a prototype Legion Go 2 that actually featured a lower resolution than the original. Most recently, news broke that the new model is planned to launch in September, at least according to a Latin American representative.
Lenovo Legion Go 2 gets leaked early
Reportedly, the closure of a Lenovo manufacturing plant led to a huge clearout of developer units, including engineering samples for the upcoming Go 2. A user on Chinese video sharing platform Bilibili has shown off the new device, including a short gaming session.

It’s unknown how close to finalized the exact model being showcased in the video is, but the specs seem to closely resemble what Lenovo has already told us. It also looks just like the render Lenovo showed us back at CES. Specs include an OLED panel, 144Hz variable refresh rate, and lower 1920×1200 screen resolution. It’s also clearly running on Windows 11 – so don’t expect SteamOS out of the box like the most recent Legion Go S variant. Fans of the Legion Go will also be happy to know that the handheld keeps its detachable controller design.
We’ll have to wait and see if Lenovo makes any more announcements in the near future. So far, the company has remained pretty quiet about how the Go 2 is doing. In comparison, the new MSI Claw already has pre-orders in Europe, and ASUS has scheduled the launch of its ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X for the Holiday season this year.
