It has been 23 years since the release of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Despite being eclipsed in popularity by Skyrim and Oblivion, it still holds an important place in the hearts of many. A modding project has celebrated the anniversary of its release by updating a major expansion mod with a huge number of new quests.
The modding community for The Elder Scrolls games is huge and passionate. Over the years, it has built up a solid base of knowledge and tools that they use to improve their favourite games, along with adding brand new content. The recent launch of Oblivion Remastered has also given modders another game to sink their teeth into.
The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind mod gets new expansion
One of the largest and most ambitious of these modding projects for Morrowind is ‘Tamriel Rebuilt'. This mod aimed to add in content that Bethesda was forced to cut from the original game due to time and resource constraints. This includes plans to add the entire Tamriel mainland from the Elder Scrolls lore. So, if you’re done with Oblivion Remastered for now, why not give Morrowind a revisit?
To celebrate the 23rd Anniversary of the original release of Morrowind, the Tamriel Rebuilt mod team has announced the release of the latest expansion, Grasping Fortune. This expansion adds a lot more new content, including 140 handcrafted dungeons, over 270 new quests, 2500 unique NPCs, many of whom inhabit the newly added metropolis of Narsis, which has more than 200 interiors.
The addition of Narsis is impressive all by itself, since it is established as the second largest city in Morrowind, and is the largest settlement that the Tamriel Rebuilt team has created so far.
The mod team released a video trailer showing what is on offer for those interested in the mod. Tamriel Rebuilt can be obtained from the official Tamriel Rebuilt website or Morrowind Nexus. Further information on the project can also be found on the website.
