MSI’s presumed next gaming handheld, the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+, has surfaced online for the second time in two days. We first heard about the EX model last month, after sources revealed that the new Panther Lake-powered handheld would be available with Intel Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme chips. So far, we’ve only seen the Extreme model being referenced by online retailers.

On top of the initial leak, it was only yesterday when more information surfaced online regarding the handheld. Data from a Polish B2B company revealed that MSI will be running a ‘Launch Pack’ for the device, and this is exactly what an Australian retailer is advertising in an early listing. The Launch Pack includes extra goodies such as a travel case and screen protector.

MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ price leaked in Australia

Scorptec is a popular Australian retailer specializing in PC hardware. It claims to be one of Australia’s “leading I.T. retailers” – so we’re not looking at a small independent store here. In any case, two listings have appeared online with some revealing information about the new EX model and its associated Launch Pack, including their price tags.

A previous early listing from Italian retailer Ollo Store (without the Launch Pack extras) leaked a €1599 price tag in the region, and perhaps the wider European market. For comparison, that translates to $2,600 AUD when directly converted.

MSI sells a ‘Super Pack’ for its existing Claw 8 AI+ handheld, shipping with a docking station, 100W power adapter, lanyard, travel case, and screen protector. The Launch Pack is a little less all-inclusive, forgoing the dock, lanyard, and adapter, although it does upgrade from ‘Travel Case II’ to ‘Travel Case III’ – the differences of which we cannot determine right now.

While there is still no product imagery for the Claw 8 EX AI+, we now know (thanks to this Aussie retailer leak) that the device will be available in MSI’s Void Purple colorway. The original Claw 8 AI+ model didn’t launch with this design, but it was one of the new editions introduced at CES in January this year, alongside Glacier Blue.
