MSI, like any brand, has been busy flaunting its latest products at the ongoing Computex 2025 convention. One pick of the bunch is the new MSI MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 gaming monitor, which looks to be one of the best OLED monitors on display at the event. You can expect to see some impressive specs, and there’s also a “World’s First” feature.
The new QD-OLED panel boasts a fast 500Hz refresh rate (meeting the standard set by Samsung’s OLED G6 and Acer’s Predator X27U F5). However, that’s not the only thing to be excited about, as MSI has made some improvements to the overall lifespan.
MSI MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50 turns off when you’re not at your desk
It hasn’t been that long since MSI announced an update to OLED Care 2.0 that drops the mandatory panel refresh from a 16-hour interval to 24 hours. This change remains the same with the MSI MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50, but MSI now brings “Real-Time Human Detection” to work in tandem with its OLED care package. The 271QR comes with a new feature dubbed ‘AI Care Sensor’ that essentially powers the screen off when no one is actively in front of the monitor.
On top of powering down, the new QD-OLED display offers “real-time human detection, dynamically adjusting settings to protect the monitor and boost efficiency,” according to MSI. The brand’s existing OLED Care package includes all the usual techniques that have become standard on most OLED monitors, such as pixel shift, pixel refresh, and other tricks such as taskbar detection.
