Nvidia fans are finally getting the RTX 5090 for MSRP again, thanks to a fresh wave of Priority Access invites
Buying an RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 graphics card at MSRP has been nearly impossible since launch. Shortly after the cards were released, there were low stock issues, which led to scalpers listing them at absurd prices on third-party platforms. However, there’s finally some good news; people who signed up for Nvidia’s Verified Priority Access program are now finally getting the invites to buy one of the Founders Edition cards at MSRP.
Verified Priority Access isn’t a new program. Nvidia launched it earlier this year to help a limited number of GeForce gamers and creators in the U.S. buy an RTX 5090, RTX 5080, or RTX 5070 Founders Edition directly from Nvidia at MSRP. We saw the first wave of Priority Access invites as early as February, but since then, reports of invites coming through have been sparse.
One Reddit user confirmed they were selected to buy the RTX 5090 through the program, and several others replied saying they got the same email. In another post, a different user also shared a screenshot confirming they received an invitation. So far, most of the confirmed invites seem to be for the RTX 5090 only.
Unfortunately, we haven’t found anything related to RTX 5080 invites yet. It’s possible that Nvidia is prioritizing the RTX 5090, or the RTX 5080 Founders Edition stock simply isn’t available yet. Either way, if you signed up for Verified Priority Access earlier this year, it’s a good time to check your inbox, as your invite might already be there. As for the RTX 5070, we recently found it for MSRP at two different retailers, so be sure to check that out if you’re in the market for one.
In any case, if you haven’t signed up for the Verified Priority Access program yet, you can still do so here or here. Keep in mind that it’s only open to users who created their Nvidia account on or before January 30th, 2025, at 6 AM PT. For now, the program is limited to users in the U.S., and it only applies to the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Founders Edition graphics cards.
