Overall, we found the ET-2850 to have “reasonable costs, acceptable speeds…everything you need for your day-to-day printing”. We found setup “incredibly easy”, especially when it came to filling up the ink tanks. Everything is clearly labeled so there’s no need to fumble around in the dark (or get ink all over your hands in the process).
When it comes to the ink itself, we were impressed with the amount you got thrown in with the printer itself. You actually get 2 years of ink, which for more general usage is more than enough.
Scanning was something else that stood out to us and something that needs to be good if you’re working from home. While camera scanners are okay, you usually have to pay a fair bit, and they’re not always that great in our experience. Thankfully, this scanner solves any of that frustration, and the results of our testing at different DPIs were great. In short – a 300dpi document in color took 25 seconds to scan, and in black and white, just 10 seconds. 600 dpi took longer, but you’d expect that with any scanner.
So who’s this printer for? Well, if you’re working from home and have to do a fair amount of scanning and printing, and you want something that performs well – and you aren’t sticking to a tighter budget.
It’s the type of printer that will actually look great in your home setup, from an aesthetic point of view. It’s far from flimsy and has decent build quality, plus it’s also small enough to fit in practically any working space, or be hidden away with ease should you wish to. That being said, there are alternatives if this printer doesn’t quite pick your fancy.
Even more Epson printers are discounted at Target
Right now, it looks like loads of Epson printers are going for less, including higher-end and more budget options. I’ve spotted some discounts of more than $100 too, so it looks to be a great time to buy if you don’t want to hold fire until the Black Friday sales.
You can find all the Epson printer deals currently available at Target right here. Before making your decision, be sure to check if we’ve reviewed any of them, so you can make a more informed decision.
