Rumor has it that OnePlus is gearing up to release the very first Pro version of their OnePlus Pad tablet. According to sources, its release is imminent and now a list of leaked specs gives us a closer look at what’s to come. However, with Apple recently releasing their impressive new OLED iPad Pro, we can’t help but think that OnePlus is missing out just a little by sticking to an LCD screen.
The original OnePlus Pad hit stores last year and it’s been a fairly long wait for a sequel to arrive. It’s worth noting that the Pad 2 has allegedly been delayed, as Max Jambor confirms, but this seems to have made way for the Pro edition to launch sooner, rather than later.

Still worth checking out?
Looking back to the first OnePlus Pad, which is currently available on Amazon, it features a smaller 11.61″ LCD display and just 8GB of RAM. So, while the Pro will be getting a bigger screen and better internals, the popularity of OLED is being missed here. Apple has pushed this hard with their new pro model, helping it become their thinnest-ever product to date, but it’s looking like OnePlus is a step behind. Gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck OLED and upcoming Zotac Zone also jump on this trend.
If you aren’t all too bothered by the OLED hype, we still think the new Pad Pro is worth looking forward to. Significant improvements to the internal hardware and a higher-resolution, bright 900 nits screen can help overshadow the lack of OLED. We’re yet to learn the pricing of the new model, though it will likely be higher than the $479.99 that the non-pro variant launched at.
