Sony recently revealed the release date for its first official PlayStation arcade stick, the FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick, with plans to launch it alongside Marvel Tลkon: Fighting Souls. Since Marvel Tลkon is expected to be one of the biggest fighting game releases of 2026, many players were looking forward to using Sony’s new controller on day one. However, those plans have now changed, as PlayStation has officially delayed the accessory.

In an update shared on the PlayStation Blog, Sony confirmed that the FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick has been delayed due to unexpected production delays. The controller was originally scheduled to launch on August 6, the same day as Marvel Tลkon: Fighting Souls, but it will now arrive at a later date. Sony has not announced a new release window, only saying that it will share another update soon.

Sony posts update on FlexStrike release date

We wanted to share an update on the launch timing for FlexStrike wireless fight stick. Due to unexpected production delays, FlexStrike wireless fight stick will launch at a later date. We will share an update soon.

Weโ€™re working to ensure we deliver the best possible experience to our players with FlexStrike, so weโ€™re taking extra time to put the finishing touches on the product. We apologize for this delay and look forward to bringing the FlexStrike experience to the community when it launches.

Players who have pre-ordered FlexStrike wireless fight stick from direct.playstation.com can check their order status through the website and will receive communications regarding their order. Players who pre-ordered through another retailer should look for updates directly from that retailer or contact them with any questions.

The delay means that players planning to pick up the Sony-published Marvel Tลkon at launch will have to settle for another controller. It’s a disappointment for those looking to pick up their first arcade stick with a first-party option and dedicated fighting game fans alike – especially because the FlexStrike was designed specifically for competitive fighting games and tournament play.

The $199.99 controller includes several features aimed at fighting game enthusiasts. It supports both PS5 and PC, connects wirelessly through PlayStation Link, and can also be used with a wired USB-C connection for low-latency gameplay. Sony has also included swappable restrictor gates, allowing players to customize the feel of the joystick, along with a built-in touchpad and a carrying case for easier travel to tournaments and events.

Players who pre-ordered the FlexStrike directly through PlayStation can check the status of their order on the official website and will receive updates from Sony. On the other hand, those who placed pre-orders through other retailers are advised to watch for updates from their retailer or contact them directly with any questions.
