Grand Theft Auto fans have recently suspected a new marketing push for GTA 6 after Sony started pushing GTA 6 pre-orders even more on the PlayStation App. And now, Rockstar Games has just announced an upcoming special titled ‘Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look’ to premiere on Netflix on August 27. The feature will also be uploaded to YouTube on the same day.

Just a few months away from the GTA 6 release date on November 19, some fans of the franchise have started to grow tired of Rockstar Games’ relative silence. There’s still no sign of trailer 3, but the “An Extended Look” announcement does finally give gamers something new to look forward to, even if a ‘trailer for a trailer’ doesn’t really provide any instantaneous hype.

GTA 6 Extended Look is coming on August 27

The extended look will premiere on Netflix at 3 PM Eastern Time and will be uploaded to Rockstar Games’ YouTube channel six hours later (9 PM Eastern Time). Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look has already been listed on the Netflix website, but it doesn’t give anything away. “See an extended look at ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’, the next evolution in the groundbreaking ‘Grand Theft Auto’ series,” it reads.

More than a month has passed since the GTA 6 cover art reveal, and the most recent trailer (trailer 2) came out way back in May 2025, advertising the now-outdated May 26, 2026 release date. As such, gamers are still waiting for trailer 3 to be released, but it looks like the ‘extended look’ may be its replacement, at least for now.
