Grand Theft Auto 6 was officially announced by Rockstar Games back in 2022, and it has remained one of the most talked-about titles ever since. It’s probably the most hyped video game in history, with a massive budget to match. If you’re waiting for GTA 6 to finally arrive, here’s everything you need to know about the release date, trailers, and confirmed platforms.
Every small update about the project instantly spreads across social media, and fans are eagerly waiting to finally jump back into Rockstar’s open-world crime series. Outside of official material, there are plenty of leaks and rumors to discuss, too.
GTA 6 release date
GTA 6 has gone through multiple delays ever since Rockstar first revealed the game. Initially, the company planned to launch it in Fall 2025, but later decided to move the release window to May 2026. However, Rockstar eventually delayed the game once again. And at the moment, the official release date for GTA 6 is November 19, 2026.

The good news is that another delay does not seem likely. Take-Two Interactive has already confirmed that the game is set to launch on the mentioned date, and the company also revealed that marketing for the title will start ramping up during the summer. This is usually a good sign that development is progressing smoothly behind the scenes.
On top of that, Rockstar Games also opened pre-orders for the game on June 25, 2026, which further confirms that Rockstar is fully preparing for launch later this year.
GTA 6 trailers so far – and when does trailer 3 come out?
Rockstar shared the first GTA 6 trailer on its official YouTube channel back in December 2023. The trailer instantly broke records online and currently sits at more than 279 million views. Fans spent months analyzing every small detail from the video, including the setting, characters, vehicles, and hidden references.
After a very long wait, Rockstar finally released the second trailer in May 2025. That trailer also exploded in popularity and currently has over 161 million views. It gave players another look at the game’s world, characters, and visuals, while also increasing excitement even further.
So far, Rockstar has not released a third trailer for the game. Many expected Trailer 3 to arrive on May 12, but that obviously did not happen, and it also didn’t happen for pre-orders (Rockstar released a cover art reveal rather than a full trailer). However, a sneaky comment from YouTube hints at trailer 3 coming on June 25.
Confirmed platforms for GTA 6 – and when does it release for PC?
Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game is being developed as a next-generation experience, which means it will not be released on older consoles like the PS4 or Xbox One.
As for PC players, Rockstar has not officially announced a PC version yet. However, many fans already expected this to happen, as GTA 5 arrived on PC almost a year and a half after its original console launch on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Take-Two Interactive’s CEO also explained in an interview why Rockstar usually focuses on consoles first.
“Rockstar always starts on console because I think with regard to a release like that you’re judged by serving the core. Like really serving the core consumer. If your core consumer isn’t there, if they’re not served first and best, you kind of don’t hit your other consumers.”
Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two Interactive CEO
While nothing official has been announced yet, one leak did suggest that GTA 6 could launch on PC as soon as early 2027. Failing that, it may be pushed to 2028, based on the 19-month gap between these launches for GTA 5. Until Rockstar confirms something officially, PC players may have to wait a bit longer compared to console users.
