Nvidia announced four RTX 50-series cards during CES 2025. While three of them, the RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 Ti were released during the past few weeks, the 5070 launched today. Many rushed to their favorite retailers to grab the 4070’s successor, which promises to offer performance similar to the RTX 4090. However, if you were planning to get it today, you’ll be disappointed to learn that it is now sold out across all popular retailers.
- GPU: GB205-300
- CUDA Cores: 6,144
- VRAM: 12GB GDDR7
- Memory Bus Width: 192-bit
- Base Clock Speed: 2.33GHz
- Boost Clock Speed: 2.51GHz
RTX 5070 is now out of stock
The RTX 5070 Ti, its more powerful sibling, was released a few weeks ago on February 20. The demand for the card was so high that it was marked as sold out within minutes. Since the Ti model is difficult to get, many were waiting for the base model to release, as it’s cheaper at $549 and still promises solid performance. However, the 5070 also shared the same fate as the Ti model, as the entire stock was gone within minutes.

The worst part is that there is currently no word on when retailers will restock other than “as soon as possible”. All of them usually receive a limited supply at launch, and they have yet to share an update on when the next batch will arrive. It can take weeks or months for that to happen. There were already reports about the RTX 5070 facing limited availability at launch, and this turned out to be accurate, with larger UK retailer Overclockers UK even reporting that cards are “yet to arrive“.
Will the 5070 price be inflated?
Now that the card is officially sold out, we can expect scalpers to start listing the RTX 5070 on third-party stores, like eBay, for much higher prices. While the card has an MSRP of $549, it could be sold for a whole lot more; we expect it to easily break four digits. The RTX 5090 also appeared on eBay shortly after its launch for over $6,000, which is $4,000 more than its original MSRP of $1,999.
In any case, make sure to bookmark our Where to buy RTX 5070 page in your browser, where we’ve listed all major retailers offering this GPU. Just visit them from time to time to see if it’s back in stock, but we don’t expect that to happen anytime soon. We’ll also work to keep our RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 stock tracker up to date as much as possible.
