RTX 5070 Ti might be difficult to find at MSRP as there likely won’t be a Founders Edition

Nvidia announced the RTX 50 series lineup during CES 2025. While the company didn’t reveal all the cards, it did confirm four GPUs that will be available at the end of this month and in February. Nvidia also confirmed the MSRPs for all four cards, including the RTX 5070 Ti. However, you might not be able to get it at the price the company mentioned, as there appears to be no Founders Edition for it, something that was also the case with RTX 4070 Ti.
RTX 5070 Ti won’t have a Founders Edition
Usually, Nvidia releases Founders Editions of their GPUs. These Founders Edition models are base versions of the graphics cards, available at the price Nvidia advertises them at. For example, if Nvidia set an MSRP of $1,000 for a card, the Founders Edition would cost $1,000.
Since Nvidia hasn't confirmed a Founders Edition (FE) for the RTX 5070 Ti, it will likely be much harder to find the card at its MSRP of $749. Instead, you will probably have to purchase a third-party card. These third-party cards (otherwise known as AIBs) are made by other brands like MSI, ASUS, and Gigabyte, and they generally cost more than the base price Nvidia offers for the FE model. Just like with any launch, there will be cheaper models close to $749, but we expect those to be the most highly contested.
Third-party cards usually come with extra features like improved cooling or overclocking. Because of this, their prices are typically higher than the MSRP of Nvidia's Founders Edition cards. For example, if a card has an MSRP of $1,000, third-party cards could cost anywhere between $1,200 and $1,500, depending on the features. The situation will likely be the same for the RTX 5070 Ti. Without a Founders Edition, you might have to pay an extra $200 or more than the MSRP for popular brands like MSI, Zotac, ASUS, or Gigabyte.
For comparison, the RTX 5080, which has an MSRP of $999, is already being listed by European retailers at much higher prices. Third-party models of the RTX 5080 are priced between €1,229 and €1,699, which is roughly $1,267 to $1,751. In any case, the RTX 5070 Ti is expected to be released in February 2025. While Nvidia hasn't confirmed the exact release date yet, we can expect more details to be announced at the end of this month.
