The RTX 50-series was announced at CES 2025, where Nvidia confirmed four GPUs. One of them, the RTX 5080, was released today. This high-end card offers impressive specifications, making it an excellent choice for 4K gaming. That's one of the reasons it earned a 4.5 out of 5 in our in-depth RTX 5080 review. However, if you were planning to buy one today, you'll be disappointed to learn that it's already sold out at almost every major retailer.

RTX 5080 is now out of stock
The first RTX 5080 listing on Amazon US appeared a few days ago, but it didn't include a price at the time. On top of that, the page only displayed “currently unavailable,” with no option to pre-order. As a result, many had to search for the card at their favorite retailers today. However, due to high demand, it sold out within minutes of launch.
Shortly after the RTX 5080 launched on retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg, all listings were marked as out of stock. Retailers usually receive a limited supply at launch, and it looks like the entire batch is already gone. This wasn't surprising, as previous reports warned of an “extremely limited supply” at launch for both the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090.
Right now, many PC enthusiasts eager to upgrade to the RTX 5080 are in a tough spot, as there's no word on when retailers will restock. However, it's important to remember that the next batch, and even the one after that, could sell out just as fast, as demand for this GPU will remain high for at least a few months.
Also, scalpers will likely take advantage of the situation by listing the RTX 5080 at much higher prices on platforms like eBay. This happens with almost every popular tech release, and you can expect to see the RTX 5080 selling for well over $2,000 on third-party sites.
