The mid-high end of the RTX 50 series had a rough launch. Shortly after the cards were released, they sold out at nearly every retailer, and scalpers later listed them at absurd prices on third-party platforms like eBay. However, things have finally started to calm down, as the RTX 5090 is currently available at MSRP in the U.S.

The RTX 5090 is the flagship model of the RTX 50-series and is currently the most powerful gaming GPU on the market. We saw it being sold for over $6,000 on eBay after its launch, but thankfully, those times are long gone.

RTX 5090 spotted at MSRP at Walmart

Normally, the RTX 5090 Founders Edition gets sold at MSRP (if you’re lucky enough to find one or get one through Nvidia’s Priority Access program), while third-party models are listed at higher prices. But right now, on Walmart, you can find the PNY Nvidia RTX 5090 OC listed for $1,999, which is the official MSRP of the card. Previously, the same model was listed for $2,799, but the discount has knocked off a massive $800, providing a great opportunity for anyone looking to upgrade.

To make things even better, Walmart also has the PNY Nvidia RTX 5080 OC, the next-best RTX 50 series card, for only $929 – $70 less than its official MSRP of $999. This third-party model was also listed for $1,099 before, but you can currently save $170 on it. We also recently spotted some 5080 cards under MSRP in the UK, albeit not for brand-new models.

In any case, it’s great to see both cards finally drop down to reasonable prices. Founders Edition cards are usually the ones listed at MSRP on Nvidia’s official marketplace, but they’re often out of stock, and it’s rare to see third-party models priced the same. If you’re planning to get any one of the cards, we recommend acting fast, as such deals don’t usually last long.
