Ryzen 7 9800X3D full specs leaked
According to the listing on Geizhals, a price comparison tool, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will offer a base clock of 4.70 GHz and a boost clock of 5.20 GHz. However, a recent Geekbench leak showed the CPU running at 5.3 GHz, which could be due to overclocking. Aside from that, the listing also reveals that it will have a TDP of 120W.
While this TDP is relatively high and will require you to use one of the best AIO coolers to keep the temps low, it is important to keep in mind the 9000X3D CPUs are expected to offer better thermal performance thanks to reversed CCD and 3D V-Cache layering.
As far as compatibility is concerned, the 9800X3D will work with A620, A620A, B650, B650E, PRO 600, PRO 665, X600, X670, X670E, and the latest X870E motherboards; assumedly the X870 chipset as well. On top of that, it will have an L3 Cache size of 96 MB (32 MB + 64MB 3D Cache), which is the same as its predecessor, the 7800X3D.
In any case, remember that these specs aren’t official yet, so take them with a grain of salt. We’ll only know the real specs once AMD confirms them. The price comparison tool also shows the 9800X3D with a November 7 release date. However, no other models from the 9000X3D series are listed on the site, so it’s unclear if we’ll see additional processors released on the same day.
