VR mod for Ready or Not “coming soon” with blessing from the official devs
Table of Contents
Ready or Not is getting a self-funded fan-made VR mod. The mod, created by community members Mike/VRO (Virtual Reality Oasis) and KITT, will be free to download and is compatible with the entire game and its DLC. It’s even got the blessing of VOID Interactive, the original devs, but be warned, it will require “a high end gaming PC” to run smoothly.
The SWAT simulator game has made a few headlines this year – not always for the best, but it has been back on people’s minds. It first launched in December 2023 and recently enjoyed a larger resurgence thanks to the Los Sueños Stories update that introduced many changes to coincide with the console (and EGS) launch with cross-play.
Ready or Not VRO mod announced
The Ready Or Not VRO Mod goes above and beyond what is currently possible with UEVR;
- Custom hand gestures for squad commands – hold and on me
- Full custom body rig with ammo and equipment pouches
- Manual reloading mechanics
- Working radio
- Custom VR tablet for mission status, mod options and customisations for a better VR experience
- Working equipment – Optiwand, Battering Ram and Riot Shield
- Custom VR door interactions – push with hands or direct action with icons
Plans for the future;
Source: Ready Or Not VRO Mod Discord server
- All weapon hand poses will have correct alignment
- Support for left handed players
- Working grenades
- Working equipment such as Grenade Launchers
- Resolve multiplayer avatar issues
- Support for more VR controllers
- Loadout customization and level selections screens

The official devs even gave a shoutout to the new project. They also allowed Mike and KITT to use official artwork, logos, and music for the mod’s trailer – it’s nice to see them so open-minded about mods for the game.
The mod is only revealed to be ‘coming soon’ right now, but there is already some footage to take a look at in the trailer above. Plus, on the mod’s Discord server, you can expect to see more updates as the project is more realized. Multiplayer functionality is a work in progress, and the devs say if you can run base Ready or Not on high settings, then your PC should be good enough to run the VR mod. Lastly, since it’s not a standalone mod, you’ll need the base version of the game.
