As you may have seen, everyone’s favorite CPU for gaming, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, has been a little tricky to find recently. In fact, we’ve seen that it’s been either out of stock or going for an all-time high price at some retailers. The reason for this is likely down to the upcoming Ryzen 9 9800X3D, tipped to be heading our way later this month – but for those who may not be interested in upgrading, we’ve found a decent option for you to consider.

Right now at Micro Center, you can score this PowerSpec X607 gaming PC for $2,399.99, saving you a massive $600.

Here’s a closer look at what you’re getting:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D (4.2GHz) Processor
  • Motherboard: ASUS Prime B650M-A AX6 Motherboard
  • RAM: 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Graphics Card
  • SSD: 2TB NVMe

PowerSpec, if you don’t know, is a Micro Center exclusive line of PCs, and there’s a lot to love about this. It houses an RTX 4080 Super GPU, which we’ve tested and reviewed here at PCguide.com. We stated that it ‘confidently replaces any reason to ever go out and buy the base RTX 4080’ and we’d stand by the fact that for most people, ‘this is the 4K gaming graphics card to get.’ You can easily run most of the latest games smoothly at 4K, with the graphical settings set to Ultra.

The processor, as you’re aware, is one of the most in-demand CPUs for gaming out there. We gave the 7800X3D a massive 4.5/5 in our in-depth review, noting that it can ‘smash through any gaming workload you throw at it’.

On top of this you’ve got an impressively sized NVMe SSD and a solid amount of DDR5 RAM to keep everything running smoothly. And of course it goes without saying that we think the design is stunning.

The $600 you save can be invested in one of the best gaming monitors for this PC. However, you might need to add a little more to what you saved to get a solid 4K gaming monitor with a high refresh rate. After all, a beast like the RTX 4080 Super shouldn’t be paired with a basic monitor.

What our experts think of this gaming PC

Ussamah, our man for all things gaming PCs, noted that ‘all the components in this PC are high-end and work well together.‘ He goes on to say that ‘It is definitely crossing into the enthusiast build territory though.’ meaning that if you’re not going to be playing AAA games or putting it through its paces with CPU intensive tasks, it may be a little overkill.

Abdul also noted that this PC was ‘capable of running most latest games smoothly with Ultra settings and 4K’ and made the point that those who purchase it ‘won’t need to worry about upgrading for at least a few years with these specs.’

Overall, it looks like we’re all aligned when it comes to this gaming PC, so if you’re looking for something that’ll be great for gaming and productivity, and want to save $600 in the process, this could be just the deal for you.
