Just yesterday, a leak suggested that Valve was gearing up to launch refurbished versions of the Steam Deck OLED. It’s now evident that no time was being wasted because later on in the day, these refurb handhelds went live. We can see exactly how much you save if you opt for one- and it’s a pretty substantial drop. For example, you’ll pay $649 for the 1TB OLED at full price, but the refurb will cost you just $519.

This is great news if you’ve been looking to find the OLED model without paying full price. Valve has been selling refurbished LCD Steam Decks for a while now, though finding one in stock is a struggle in many regions. With that in mind, we expect the more premium OLED decks to fly off the shelves as well.

Valve lists Steam Deck OLED ‘Certified Refurbished’ for sale

Anyone in the market for a Steam Deck OLED should check out the newly listed refurb models on the Steam store here. At the time of writing, both the 512GB and 1TB models are available in the US, but we don’t know for sure how long this will last. For reference, here’s how the pricing for all OLEDs looks right now:

  • Steam Deck OLED 1TB: $649
  • Steam Deck OLED 1TB (Refurbished): $519
  • Steam Deck OLED 512GB: $549
  • Steam Deck OLED 512GB (Refurbished): $439

Valve announced that the refurbished models are now available for sale in the US, Canada, UK, and the EU. It looks like they have already sold out in the UK. In any case, savings up to $130 are hard to ignore considering the ‘Certified Refurbished’ models feature “the same one year warranty as a new Steam Deck” (or longer depending on region) and “provide a reliable, high-quality gaming experience at a lower cost” despite the potential for “cosmetic blemishes.” Every device goes through a complete factory reset, software update, and “extensive examination” with over 100 tests.
