The Hot Chips Symposium is an annual event held at Stanford University that features presentations from some of the leading tech companies globally. Within these presentations, companies present their launch plans for the year ahead, as well as discuss other areas of interest. The Hot Chips program has a habit of revealing the topics that companies will discuss prior to the event, allowing customers to have a sneak peek at what’s to come from their favorite tech giants.
This year the event will be taking place from August 25th-27th and utilizes a hybrid viewing experience, where you can either attend in person or watch the event online. To watch the event virtually you’ll need to register through the Hot Chips website by the 2nd of August.

What to expect at Hot Chips
The Hot Chips program has confirmed a number of topics that the companies attending the event will be discussing, one being AMDs new Zen 5 architecture. The Zen 5 presentation is expected to be delivered by Brad Cohen and Mike Clark on August 27th. In this presentation, the pair will be discussing what the new Zen 5 architecture means for AMD processors and could potentially be discussing a timeline for its launch. This is not the only thing that will be presented by AMD at the event, with Alan Smith and Vamsi Krishna discussing the Instinct MI300X Generative AI Accelerator and Platform Architecture. In addition to this, AMD’s Jeffery Chu, Tomai Knopp, and Sagheer Ahmed will be presenting the next-generation AMD Versal AI Edge Series for Vision and Automotive.
On top of this, there are a number of other tech giants presenting at the event, including Intel, Nvidia, and Qualcomm. Intel plans to discuss its 16th-generation processor that features the Lunar Lake architecture. This is set to be presented by Arik Gihon and will hopefully outline the features utilized within this architecture. In addition to this, Qualcomm will discuss their Snapdragon X Elite ARM Processors. These processors are designed for Windows operating systems and modern AI PCs and will be introduced by Gerard Williams who will be presenting an overview of the architecture and design.
Nvidia plans to focus on its advancements in generative AI and accelerated computing by discussing its plans for the Blackwell GPU architecture. This will be presented by Ajay Tirumala and Raymond Wong, who will hopefully not only discuss the features of this new architecture but also potentially a timeline of its release.
