Table of Contents
It isn’t news that the RTX 5080 is one of the best GPUs on the market, but not every 5080 is made equal, and the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC is one of the most powerful variants that you can get your hands on. This card features a quad-fan design and is a lot bigger than the RTX 5080 FE, meaning you’ll have to factor that in while making your decision. We have thoroughly tested and reviewed it in-house, and you can check out the real-world benchmarks as well for the complete picture.
However, to give you a summary, it secured a spot in our best RTX 5080 guide and had the best performance out of the three RTX 5080s that we reviewed here at PC Guide. So, that should give you an idea of what it packs and what you’re in store for if you grab it. That being said, it is an expensive offering, as right now, with a 14% price cut, it’ll cost you $1,807.99. That being said, if you’re building a new gaming PC, we recommend checking out the best CPUs and PSUs for the RTX 5080 as well.
What to expect from the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 OC
Strong focus on cooling and power delivery
This graphics card features four fans for powerful vertical airflow, and according to ASUS, the design improves the air pressure by 20%. This allows for more air to flow through the GPU and keep it cool, which is necessary as it is overclocked as well. Other than that, it features the ASUS MaxContact design as well, which expands the contact surface by 5%, allowing for efficient heat dissipation. All of this is still not enough, as the patented vapor chamber and the fourth fan allow for higher fin density, taking the cooling performance to the next level. This design choice also gives it dimensions of 358x149x76mm.

Fort-like durability
The PCB features a protective coating that protects it against moisture, dust, and debris, all the factors that could cause a short circuit. The ASUS GPU Guard makes the chip sturdy by applying adhesive to all four corners of the chip. However, since this GPU requires a good bit of power, to ensure a smooth, clean, and stable power supply, it has 80A MOSFETs that deliver 35% more headroom, which allows for better overclocking efforts as well.
