Discord is a free voice chat application that allows you to communicate with friends or join groups of people who share common interests. It was created by Eric Wolff and Mike Matas back in 2013 and is quickly becoming the go-to source for online communications.

The service has over 100 million registered Discord users worldwide and is popular amongst the gaming community for staying in touch with friends, gaming buddies, or certain channels dedicated to themes or games.

You can use the app for free, but if you want more features, there are paid options. You can also create your own server, which means you can host your group chats.

And there’s some good news for console gamers, as you can also use Discord on your gaming consoles, and today we will explain how to get Discord on the Xbox One.

1

Downloading Discord

First things first, you need to download the Discord app for Xbox. This will allow you to talk to other players without having to load up the desktop.

Step

1

Downloading Discord

To complete this, go to the Store on your console and search for Discord.

However, the official Discord app isn’t available, and you’ll need to use a third-party app to use its functionality.

Step

2

Quarrel

Instead of searching for Discord, search for “Quarrel”, which is a frequently updated Discord client for Windows devices aimed to spread the usability of Discord.

2

Launch The Application

Once installed, launch the app and sign into the account using your Discord username and password. This will bring the process of connecting the Discord server.

Step

1

Creating An Account

If you don’t already have a Discord login, you’ll need to create an account. Go ahead and click on the Sign-Up button in the bottom right corner of the screen in Discord and do this before launching Quarrel.

Enter your email address and choose a username. Then enter a password and confirm it.

After creating your account, you’re ready to start chatting!

Step

2

Troubleshooting

If you have any problems with the app, say for example it just keeps loading and loading, try uninstalling the app and going through the installation process again, as this seems to fix this issue.

3

Connect With Friends And Groups

Once logged in with Quarrel, you should be greeted with the home page and you should be able to see all of your friends and groups as you would in the Discord application on other devices.

As this is a third-party app, you might see some adverts from time to time so bear this in mind, if you see them pop up along the outskirts of your dashboard.

Step

1

Sending A Message

To send a message to your friends or a group you are a member of, select the “Send Message” option, type your message and then select the three lines on your controller and it will send the message.

Step

2

Selecting A Friend Group

To select a group or friend and review the history of that chat, simply head to the sidebar and select the friend or group you wish to see.

Select that option and the screen will go into a full-screen mode so that you can see the chat more clearly, and from here you can scroll up and down to view the previous message in the chat.

Step

3

Going Back To The Dashboard

If you want to go back to the dashboard, all you’ll need to do is press the LB button and it will take you back to your Discord profile.

Final Thoughts

Discord has become one of the most popular ways to communicate online, and now you can use it on your Xbox One console. It’s easy to set up and once you’re connected, you can enjoy talking to your friends and playing games together all in one place!
