Just because the Core Ultra 9 285K is the new flagship processor doesn't mean that it only needs to be paired with high-end GPUs. The RX 7800 XT is a solid graphics card that can be paired with this processor and has excellent performance and value. We reviewed the RX 7800 XT, and it delivered a great performance at 1440p and could push 4K, but it isn't the best card for it.
According to AMD, this is the “ultimate 1440p card,” and its performance shows that. It features 3,840 stream processors, a 2124 MHz game frequency, a 2430 boost frequency, and 60 compute units. This means that it has enough hardware to handle intensive working and gaming sessions, and neither the CPU nor the GPU should hold each other back, as the 285K can easily handle low-resolution gaming.
So, 1440p is the sweet spot for this pairing. We reviewed the AMD reference card, and it is 267mm or 10.5” long, giving it a decent size but not as big as the high-end options. It also has a board power of 263W and a minimum PSU recommendation of 700W. We recommend using the best power supply for gaming to ensure adequate power flow to all the components.
