We’ve already seen AMD’s latest RX 9000 series GPUs get new MSRPs this year amid memory shortages, and a new report suggests Radeon cards are only getting more expensive in Q4 2026. The flagship RX 9070 XT launched in March 2025 with an official MSRP of $599, but a quick browse online will tell you the lowest price these days is around $750 for a brand-new model.

Sources suggest AMD GPU manufacturers are facing 10% higher chip costs towards the end of the year, attributed to price increases from chip maker TSMC. These encompass AI chips, consumer GPUs, and motherboard chipsets. Yesterday, we reported on a drop-off in Nvidia and AMD graphics sales at Amazon, with Intel more than doubling its GPU market share as a result.

AMD GPUs and motherboards may face a 10% price increase in Q4

This information comes from the often-reliable ChannelGate, a Chinese source that typically posts to insider forums such as Board Channels. According to the post, TSMC has already notified its customers (including AMD) of a chip price hike, “with an increase of about 10%” coming in Q4 this year, which spans from October 1 to December 31.

With AI chips, consumer GPUs, and motherboard chipsets said to be affected, this could mean we’ll see manufacturers upping the price of their Radeon graphics cards even further. Previous price hikes have been very much memory-focused, forcing higher-end cards with more VRAM to be affected the most. With this general 10% rise from TSMC, a flatter increase could be expected.

According to @harukaze5719, who shared the post on X, the CPU side of things should also be considered. Although CPUs are not explicitly mentioned in the post above, TSMC manufactures the physical silicon dies used in Ryzen processors, so we could be looking at pricing changes here, too. So far, AMD’s CPUs have generally held their MSRP, including the flagship Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition at $899.
