AMD’s next 12GB GPU leaks online with a list of specs, here’s how it compares to the current RX 9070 series

We’ve seen AMD launch two new graphics cards this year, both of which have 16GB of VRAM. We’re of course talking about the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, which were released in early March. Following those, AMD has only officially teased a range of RX 9060 series cards, with the RX 9060 XT expected to be unveiled or even released this May at Computex 2025. But there’s another model to think about, the RX 9070 GRE.
There have already been leaks that mention the existence of the RX 9070 GRE, a cut-down version of the existing GPUs slated for the Chinese market. This won’t be the first time Team Red has released a GRE card, which officially stands for ‘Great Radeon Edition’, and we’ve just got our first look at some specifications.
RX 9070 GRE specifications leaked online
This leak comes courtesy of Videocardz, who have obtained images of a PowerColor RX 9070 GRE graphics card along with its packaging. Even though AMD’s GRE models often debut in China and stay exclusive to the region for an extended period, the outlet points out that both Chinese and global branding are evident. As for the specifications, here’s what we know so far:

Videocardz references its own (anonymous) sources as the source of the leak, so we cannot confirm how reliable this information is. In any case, always be sure to take leaked information with a pinch of salt. With product photography like this already surfacing online, it suggests that the RX 9070 GRE is closer than we first thought. This seems to go against rumors that the GRE was pushed back to Q4 2025.
