Under the console, the Odin 2 Portal is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. This processor, which was released in late 2022, ensures that the device can handle plenty of games with ease. While not the absolute latest and greatest, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 still offers ample performance for many gaming needs.

The Snapdragon route is different from what we see on gaming PC handhelds such as the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, or Legion Go. With that in mind, the Odin Portal will likely be running on Android, making it more of a mobile option. For reference, the existing Odin 2 runs on Android 13.

Additional features

To enhance the gaming experience, the Odin 2 Portal features Hall-effect joysticks. These joysticks provide precise control and are known for their durability, making them ideal for long gaming sessions. Additionally, the console offers customizable buttons at the back, allowing players to tailor the controls to their preferences. In terms of connectivity, the Odin 2 Portal boasts a USB-C port. This versatile port can be used for charging, data transfer, and connecting external peripherals.

Ayn Technologies has not yet released specific details regarding the Odin 2 Portal’s pricing or availability. However, the company has indicated that more information will be shared once the Indiegogo campaign for the device goes live.
