Why should you get this bundle?
If you want a build for pure gaming, this bundle has one of the best gaming processors, as we've reviewed it in-house. The motherboard and RAM are also top picks and should work well without any issues. Let's take a closer look at each component.
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
As mentioned before, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is one of the best gaming processors available right now, and in our 7800X3D review, it had excellent performance and a substantial generational improvement over its predecessor.
This processor has 8 cores, 16 threads, a base clock speed of 4.2 GHz, a boost clock speed of 5 GHz, and a 120W TDP. All these specifications are in line with what we'd expect from a Ryzen 7 processor, but what gives it the edge in gaming is its 96MB L3 cache, stacked on top of that CPU.
So, if you want the best gaming performance from your build, the 7800X3D should serve you well.
Motherboard: ASUS B650-A ROG Strix Gaming WiFi
This is an ATX motherboard with dimensions of 12 inches x 9.6 inches (30.5 cm x 24.4 cm). It has four RAM slots that can accommodate a maximum of 128GB memory running at 6,400 MHz, and the support for AMD EXPO means you can potentially overclock your components with ease.
It has a PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot, meaning your storage device won't get bottlenecked due to low bandwidth issues. It also has a 12 + 2 power delivery system. This means that the power gets filtered through 12 phases at the first layer and through two at the second layer before reaching the CPU. This ‘cleans’ the power; the cleaner and more stable the power is, the better CPU performance you'll get, especially if you're overclocking it.
RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 series 32GB DDR5 6,000 MHz
The third component of this bundle is 32GB DDR5 RAM running at 6,000 MHz. Personally, we’d say that 32GB RAM is the sweet spot for the majority of workloads, especially gaming. That said, if you feel like you could do it with more RAM, the motherboard has two extra slots that you can use to expand the system memory.
How much are you saving?
According to camelcamelcamel, the ASUS B650-A Gaming WiFi motherboard costs $233.01. However, its original price is $259.99, while the RAM and CPU at Micro Center cost $149.99 and $499.99, respectively. So, this adds up to $909.97 if you were to get these components individually. This bundle originally offered them for $779.97, but it further slashed its price to $711.33, bringing the total discount to $198.64.
