Corsair earns DDR5 RAM speed world record, just in time for Computex 2025

The competition to see who can get the most ridiculous speeds out of DDR5 RAM doesn’t really have any official standing, but that hasn't stopped some of the top PC hardware companies from working with users to produce incredible numbers.
Previously, we reported that ASUS ROG, RAM maker G.Skill, and a user identified as bl4ackdot had broken the record with a blisteringly fast DDR5 speed of 12,822. It seems that Corsair was not content to let this stand, and worked with motherboard manufacturer ASRock and user SaltyCroissant to achieve even faster speeds.
There’s a new DDR5 RAM speed record
Corsair took to Twitter/X to declare its victory, posting a picture of a distinctly frosty-looking motherboard set-up, alongside the words: “World record unlocked! CORSAIR now has the fastest DDR5 speed ever seen!”
The world record was broken using a combination of an ASRock Z890 Taichi OCF motherboard and Corsair Vengeance 7200C36 UDIMM modules. When overclocked this far, RAM modules get extremely hot, so liquid nitrogen is the cooling solution of choice for these extreme, world-record attempt builds.
Using this setup, SaltyCroissant was able to achieve a DDR5 speed of 12,832. The result was posted on the CPU-Z validator, dated May 17, just ahead of the (now) ongoing Computex 2025 event.

G.Skill and ASUS ROG may try and win back the crown. They can even use sneaky tactics to do so. As noted on the World Record RAM Performance Rankings hosted on HWBot, there are no rules in this unofficial competition. As such, competitors are free to use unreleased prototypes, engineering samples, or other unusual hardware or configurations to get the best result.
