PlayStation VR 2, commonly known as PSVR2, probably isn’t one of the virtual reality headsets on your radar if you’re a PC gamer. That’s because it was previously exclusive to the PS5 – it isn’t even compatible with the PlayStation 4. In any case, Sony has announced five new games compatible with the headset on the way.

The VR headset has been regularly criticized for a lack of titles catered for the device, but now that it is available to use on PC, that opens up more than just games available directly via the PS5. However, some PS5-specific features such as HDR, headset feedback, and eye-tracking aren’t supported via PC.

PlayStation announces five new games for PSVR2

Over on X, PlayStation has just announced more news regarding five upcoming PSVR2 games. From horror to rhythm, let’s give you a rundown on what’s coming up:

  • Alien: Rogue Incursion
  • Hitman World of Assassination
  • Trombone Champ: Unflattered
  • Masters of Light
  • Mare

Alien: Rogue Incursion

Horror is one genre that is heightened by VR and Alien: Rogue Incursion “is ready for your PS VR2” says Sony in a recent blog post. A new trailer has been posted to give us an idea of the game’s story. The game will be released on December 19 and is currently available to pre-order with an exclusive weapon and armor skin. You can view the trailer just below.

Hitman World of Assassination

Next up we have Agent 47 coming to PSVR2 in Hitman World of Assassination. The game, which “brings together the best of HITMAN, HITMAN 2 and HITMAN 3” will be available on PSVR2 on March 27th, 2025 as detailed in the PlayStation blog post. This was previously slated for December 2024 but has since been delayed. No gameplay trailer has been released alongside the announcement, but new features such as dual-wielding and full ambidexterity will be available on the PS headset.

Trombone Champ: Unflattered

Now for something a little lighter: Trombone Champ: Unflattered is a rhythm game that offers a unique spin on the genre. It is a standalone VR version of Trombone Champ that was released back in 2022. PlayStation calls it “A new take on VR rhythm” as the game gives you much more freedom than your average rhythm game. Shipping on November 26th, the game comes with an all-new Campaign Mode and plenty of customization.

Masters of Light

The announcement trailer for Masters of Light gives us a closer look at the game ahead of its December 18th launch. Described as “an electrifying action-adventure game where you harness unstoppable magic superpowers,” Masters of Light looks like a visual treat that is enhanced by HDR and the PSVR2’s 90Hz refresh rate. The game advertises “36 challenging levels” with leaderboards to see how you rank against the competition.

Mare

Last, but not least, we have Mare. This puzzle game is out now on PSVR2; it launched today on November 18th. This single-player title gets some enhancements with the Sony headset, thanks to PSVR2 headset feedback and the game runs “at a steady 90fps” which will ensure the full 90Hz refresh rate is being utilized for added smoothness. Eye-tracking gameplay is also available which lets you interact with puzzles just by looking at them.

To use Sony’s VR headset on PC and open up an expansive library of games, you’ll need the PSVR2 PC adapter. There’s also the PSVR2 app on Steam which is required to play VR games on Steam with the device.
