Legion Go S pictured in new leak, the budget model could come in both black and white with a dedicated Steam button

We’ve been hearing a whole lot more about the Lenovo Legion Go S lately, and it’s shaping up to be a cheaper version of the original – yet based on the newer (yet to be announced) Ryzen Z2G processor. We first saw some kind of official word on the device thanks to a leak that revealed three new Legion Go handhelds were registered online.
Since then, Legion Go S renders started to appear and it reminded us immediately of the ASUS ROG Ally. This is in part thanks to the white colorway, as well as the cut-down design without detachable controllers or extra back buttons. All of this is yet to be confirmed by Lenovo, though we may learn more about the budget model in January as that’s when CES 2025 takes place.
Lenovo Legion Go S leaked render reveals black colorway
While the white colorway was the first render to appear online, a new leak courtesy of Evan Blass on X displays Legion Go S in black. We could say it now looks a little more like the ROG Ally X, though based on rumors so far regarding the specs, it isn’t going to perform like it.

In any case, there are some intriguing details about the render below, first and foremost a dedicated Steam button. That doesn’t confirm that SteamOS will be implemented, though Valve has previously confirmed that it is working on SteamOS support for other devices such as the ROG Ally.
Codenamed Legion Go S 8ARP1, the upcoming model is expected to feature an 8″ full HD screen, 120Hz refresh rate, and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM. These specs represent a step down from the original’s 8.8″ QHD display. Although the 8ARP1 is slated to be based on a newer processor, it will likely be less powerful (with a cheaper price tag to match) – you can see the full list just below.
